1. Decompose the addressed sub-skills by identifying the building blocks within for the purpose of integrating them into skill-honing activities;
2. Reproduce and customize workshop activities utilizing personal EIPA results in order to hone additional skills.
Presenter Bio
Megan Seipke-Dame is an educational interpreter with Bloomfield Hills Schools, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. She has worked in the program for 15 years and has over 20 years of experience as an educational interpreter where she has worked both as an independent contractor through an agency and as a staff interpreter, with additional experience as a video relay interpreter, post-secondary interpreter, theatrical interpreter, and freelance interpreter.
A graduate of Madonna University, Megan holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Sign Language Studies with a concentration in Interpreting. Her credentials also include RID NIC, RID Ed: K-12, MI BEI Advanced, EIPA Elementary PSE 5.0, EIPA Secondary PSE 4.6, EIPA-WT, and State of Michigan endorsements for Medical/Mental Health, DeafBlind, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education.
In addition to working as an interpreter, Megan works as an interpreter mentor and workshop co-developer/co-presenter. For the last several years, she has co-developed and co-presented a series of EIPA skills development workshops for the Michigan Department of Education, Low-Incidence Outreach and has also co-presented for the National Association of Interpreters in Education (NAIE), the Michigan chapter of RID (MiRID), Northview Public Schools, Gratiot Isabella RESD, Jackson County ISD, Bloomfield Hills Schools, and others.
