Improve communication access across Greater Minnesota! Interpreters are paired with an experienced mentor to focus on increasing the interpreters’ confidence and skills when accepting a wide variety of community assignments.
Interpreters will be provided with opportunities to meet with their mentor to exercise a variety of interpreting skills through virtual mentoring sessions.
Mentors meet with interpreters who reside in Greater Minnesota through virtual mentoring sessions.

Mentors are there to support the interpreters’ goals, with a focus on increasing interpreters’ confidence and skills when accepting community assignments.
Mentors and apprentices will be invited to join an M2E launch. During this session, mentors and apprentices will be introduced to one another, and asked a series of questions about their preferred mentoring style. After the session, apprentices will be asked to email the M2Ecoordinator with their preferred mentor choice(s). The M2E coordinator will provide the apprentice with the mentor’s contact information to begin scheduling their mentoring sessions.
Contact the Program Coordinator. They are in the best position to help resolve any problems or arrange a different apprentice.
A virtual mixer meeting is a one-hour program event. During this meeting, apprentices will participate in fun activities designed to help them discover their your strengths and weaknesses.
This event is a gem because you will get a chance to meet other apprentices and the mentors in the program. This allows for a great networking opportunity!
Mentors will be compensated for each completed mentoring session and attending any of the 2 virtual mixers.
Mentor Report & Invoice forms can be found on the Mentor Portal.
If you submit the Mentor Report & Invoice form between the 1st-15th of the month, you will be paid on the last day of the month. If you submit the form between the 16th-last day of the month, you will be paid on the 15th of next month.
Mentors are required to provide a brief synopsis of each mentoring session, including the date, apprentice’s name, areas focused on during the session, description and links of materials utilized during the session, and plans for areas of focus for the next session.
