This FREE program is designed for Deaf Interpreters working towards national certification, and is open to any Deaf individual interested in becoming an interpreter. This five-week course will help foster development of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of the four domains needed to take the CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam (see CASLI.org for more information). Program structure includes weekly virtual sessions, development activities, and group case study discussions.
Deaf individuals living in Minnesota who are not yet nationally certified.
This spring, the Certification Preparation program will run for six weeks on Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Exact dates are:

Laura SkyQuest, CDI
Laura SkyQuest (they/she) is a staff Certified Deaf Interpreter for ASLIS and has been working in the interpreting field for the past five years. Laura has also been a K-12 teacher/ASL specialist working in Deaf schools for the past 15 years. Laura is looking forward to creating space for Deaf folks who are interested in becoming interpreters and providing guidance through the process of getting certified.
