Presenter Bio
Andrea M. Bright-Fontana, M.A., BEI Court, Master, IV, and RID NIC-Advanced. Andrea was a teacher at the Texas School for the Deaf for 6 years prior to deciding that interpreting was her true calling. She has worked professionally as an interpreter for over 20 years and specializes in mental health, post-secondary, medical, and legal interpreting. She and her husband and their 3 boys were foster parents for 8 years, and have adopted 3 beautiful Deaf daughters. Since becoming a foster/adoptive parent, she has recognized the need for more education in the interpreting field related to Child Protective Services (CPS) and working with children who have experienced trauma. In her free time, she can be found at any of her 6 children’s sporting events, camping, the movies, the arcade, and…did she mention 6 kids?!
