Whether you’ve completed the foundational self-evaluation workshop or are joining us for the first time, this session focuses on systematic strategies for strengthening your professional presence, environment management, preparation routines, and ethical practice in remote settings. We’ll briefly introduce the four general performance standards and benchmark framework, then focus on turning self-assessment into concrete improvement. Through peer collaboration and guided planning, you’ll develop targeted strategies for your specific growth areas and leave with a 90-day professional development plan, accountability structures, and practical tools to support sustained skill-building in your remote practice.
Educational Objectives:
- Identify current performance levels across the four general performance standards using the benchmark framework (brief introduction provided for new participants)
- Design specific improvement strategies tailored to individual growth areas in professional presence, environment management, preparation, and ethical practice
- Create a structured 90-day professional development plan with measurable milestones and accountability checkpoints

Presenter Bio

Danielle Meder is a nationally certified ASL interpreter with over 17 years in VRS and video remote interpreting as an interpreter and operations leader. She completed the Certificate in Healthcare Interpreting program at RIT-NTID in 2017. Danielle is a licensed trainer and co-author of The Remote Interpreter International for Cross Cultural Communications. Danielle is passionate about advocating for quality and effective language access, supporting the advancement of interpreter training for spoken language interpreters, and supporting the communicative autonomy of all! Currently, Danielle works for Equiti, a language solutions organization.
