About Us Faq's Office Staff Our Vision
Where it all began…..
When Pamela Nygren, CSC, president and owner for ASL Interpreting Services was young she knew that she wanted to do more than just “go to work”, she wanted to do something that made a difference. To that end she went to school to be an interpreter for the Deaf. She worked hard and got fully certified.
In 1986, she founded Dynamic Communications Inc. with the mission of providing companies with a connection to the Deaf world by offering training, awareness and assistance with specialized equipment. She found many companies wanted to do business with the Deaf community, but just didn’t know where to start. With the advent of the American’s with Disabilities Act, doing business with the Deaf community became law and she was there to help.
In addition to her work with Dynamic Communications Inc, she continued to work as an interpreter and decided that there had to be a better “mouse trap” to provide the Deaf community with services without frustrating interpreters with outdated paging systems and manual record keeping. In 1995, Ms. Nygren started ASL interpreting Services (ASLIS) with two main ideas in mind:
- To provide the Deaf consumer with the interpreter of their choice
And To provide superior customer service
Ms. Nygren used all her resources to develop a technologically advanced, well organized, and forward thinking referral service that cares about not only its interpreters but also the Deaf community it serves. By investing in a computerized system with customized software and a great paging system, ASLIS was and continues to be the best referral service in the area.
Since 1995, ASL Interpreting Services has experienced enormous growth. Our clients tell us that our excellent customer service and commitment to providing quality interpreters have made them loyal. Our interpreters tell us we give them complete, accurate information and don’t play favorites. The office staff is willing to help with questions regarding ethics, billing, account collections, improving professional and organizational skills, developing invoices and business cards and other concerns or questions as they arise.
