ASL IS Freelance Interpreter Requirements:

• Interpreters must hold one of more of the following certifications:  RID CI , CT, CSC, SC:L, CDI, NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master, NAD/ACCI IV or NAD/ACCI V.
• Complete all the necessary paperwork; contract, rate forms and W-9

• Submit copies of all applicable documents; certification, degree, etc. All NIC certified applicants must show a copy of the results which shows how you scored in each area of the test.  

We do work with NAD/ACCI III certified interpreters and some non-certified interpreters too! You will need to be evaluated before you can start working with us. But first, you will need to send us the following to be considered:

• Submit a resume
• Have at least 2 years experience in the interpreting related field
• Submit 2 letters of recommendation from mentors, previous professors, deaf people, etc. that show their direct experience with your interpreting and can evaluate your skills. We believe you are a good person, that is why want you letters to show what kind of interpreter you are.
