ASL Interpreting Services is an interpreter referral service. We charge a referral fee to find the interpreter for you. The following the basic information is regarding our billing options and policies. To receive a copy of our Customer Agreement and set up services, please contact our office.

  

Billing Options:

 

Health Care Option

This option is for health care providers including dentists, eye clinics and physical therapists. All health care requests will be filled with interpreters that possess one or more of the following medical certifications: ACCI Level 4 or 5, NAD Level 4 or 5, or RID CSC, CI, CT, IC, TC, NIC-Master, NIC-Advanced. If your facility has other specific requirements, please contact our office to make accommodations.

 

General Request Option

This option is for all requests other then health care, legal and platform. 

 

Legal Option

This option is for all legal requests court or non-court situations. If your facility has specific certification or roster requirements, please contact our office to make accommodations.

 

Platform Option

This option is for requests such as concerts, comedic performances, theatrical performances and platform situations. Customers using this option will be billed per performance cost will be determined per situation and will be negotiated prior to filling the interpreter request. Additional fees may apply.

Additional Fees and Policies:

 

 

 

Platform Fees:

Occasionally prep time is needed for interpreters to prepare for performances. Interpreters may also request to view a performance for free prior to the date the interpreter is scheduled for.

 

Rush Fee:

Rush fee of $20 will be charged if interpreter request is made with less than 2 business days (48 hours) prior to the start of the job. Rush fees are charged per interpreter per job. This fee is not applicable to any medical facilities.

 

Travel Fee:

Travel fee of $26.50/hr will be charged portal-to-portal for interpreters that will be traveling more then 30 miles to destination AND out of the 7 county metro areas. This fee will be charged for total hours traveled both ways. Any and all travel fees will be negotiated with the customer directly, prior to the interpreter(s) accepting each assignment.

 

Cancellation Policy:

If a request is cancelled by the customer, with less than 48 business hours notice all applicable fees will be billed in full. If the Deaf or Hard of Hearing client does not show, all applicable fees will be billed in full. ASLIS business hours are Monday-Friday 7:30A-430P.  ASLIS is closed on the weekends and all major holidays and do not consider these to be operating business hours.  (i.e. a cancellation for an assignment scheduled at 9:00am on Monday, needs to be cancelled no later than 9:00am on the preceding Thursday)

 

Direct Contracting Policy:

Once a relationship is established between a customer and ASLIS the customer may not contract with the interpreter(s) directly unless written consent is given by Pamela D. Nygren, President/CEO of ASLIS. Customers/interpreters found violating this policy are in breach of this agreement, and appropriate actions will be taken by ASLIS.

 

Team Interpreting Policy:

If a request is made for longer then 2 hours and the interpreter will be signing non stop a 2nd interpreter is required. All applicable fees will be charged per interpreter. Interpreters that team together switch back and forth every 20-30 minutes for quality control of information being given and to avoid fatigue.

 

Other Policies:

  • Each request made has billable minimum of 2 hours, regardless of the actual amount of time requested. Thereafter requests will be billed by the ½ hour.
  • ASLIS does not accept any 3rd party billing, including but not limited to, insurance agencies.
  • ASLIS does abide by any and all state and federal regulations. Additionally ASLIS adheres to the Health Insurance Accountability and Portability Act (HIPAA).
